Mandarin Goals - 1st trimester

Mandarin Class Goal Setting for 1st Trimester

Name: Tem B.   Level: 6 Beginning   Grade: 6B

What is your difficulty in learning Mandarin?

I don't have any difficulties in learning Mandarin.

Please list your goals in different areas:

Listening:

Able to understand more Mandarin in class and outside class.

Oral:

Able to speak more fluent Mandarin, and chat (ask and answer) about things we learned.

Reading:

Able to read aloud basic, simple chinese books and understand them.

Character Writing:

Able to write about 50 characters.

Classroom Participation:

Answer more questions in class, and volunteer for more events.

To achieve my goal, I would like to:

Listening:

Watch more Chinese movies, and try to use it in my daily life, not just only in class.

Oral:

Speak more Mandarin in my daily life, and sing more Chinese songs.

Reading:

Buy Chinese books to read, and try to read Chinese on the internet, newspaper, or when I'm in the car, try to read posters on walls, and poles on the roadside.

Character Writing:

Challenge myself to write harder Chinese characters that we haven't learned in class, and learn about 3 - 5 characters each day. Also, I have to practice them everyday. For example,  try to memorize the characters from outside of my house, and come back to practice it.

Classroom Participation:

Volunteering to give handouts out, raise up my hand for every question, and give comments as well.
